volunteer for the parade

The Holidays in the Vue Parade is not possible without our volunteers. We need approximately 75-100 volunteers to support a variety of tasks on the day of the parade and in the days leading up to it. Engage with your neighbors and showcase your holiday spirit.

Volunteer Roles

Administrative Support

Volunteers are needed to assist with stuffing, labeling, sealing envelopes and assembling informational packets by Friday, November 7; delivering event posters to businesses by Saturday, November 15. Other duties such as cutting, laminating and assembling signage are needed by Monday, December 1.

Pre-Event Set Up

Volunteers are needed to help place signage on Saturday afternoon, November 29 and / or Sunday morning Nov. 30 at pre-assigned locations throughout Bellevue. This requires a vehicle and light manual labor. We are also seeking help with picking the signs up after the parade; no later than end of day Sunday, December 7. 

Event Day Set Up & Tear Down

Set up and/or tear down tables, tents, trash cans, cones, barricades, place signage and other duties. This roles requires manual labor. 

Staging & Step Off Support

Volunteers will assist with staging area set up, staff registration areas, monitor entrances, assist with VIP, Sponsor, Judges areas.

Flaggers/Traffic Control - Staging, Disband, Parking

Volunteers will assist as flaggers at either staging at Bellevue Middle School or the disband area on One Bellevue Place directing parade participants. Volunteers are also needed to assist with parking and participant drop off areas. 

Parade Route Marshals

Parade Marshals are needed to assist parade particpants along the 1.2 mile parade route to help ensure proper pacing. 

Parade Route Clean Up

Volunteers will assist with clean up of the 1.2 mile parade route, incuding disband, ensuring areas and sidewalks are free of any trash or litter. 

Note:

All volunteer activities, except Administrative Support, require some level of manual activity, such as walking, standing, carrying larger items, lifting, etc. In addition, these activities are in large part outside with exposure to the elements (cold, rain, sun, wind, etc) depending on weather conditions.
